Los Angeles and Santa Fe based Cira Crowell, founder of InLightWorks Productions, is a fine ar t photographer and the executive producer whose award-winning initial film, Dream Mountain , has been selected by top-tier national and international festivals and tours, including the esteemed Banff World Tour. Cira has summited numerous mountains, including two technical Himalayan peaks over 20,000 feet and has hiked over 1,000 miles in Nepal. She has published four books and her work has been exhibitioned across the United States and in Europe.
Dream Mountain follows world-class mountaineer Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Akita, as she scales Cholatse, a technical 21,130 ft peak in the heart of the Everest region of Solukhumbu, Nepal at a pivotal crux in her life and career. Images in this project were made by Cira Crowell between 2016 and 2021, working in Nepal and while leading the Dream Mountain project as executive producer, co-expedition
photographer, and climber. The sixteen black and white photographs made with the Leica SL system are a thoughtful portrait of Cholatse as well as Pasang, and explore interconnections between mountain and culture while transcending stereotypes.
