Terry LaRue is a Seattle-based photographer and printmaker who has turned to the camera to confront and eternalize the struggles that come with a life of excruciating pain and the side effects that follow. He lives with a rare condition, CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), that continues to challenge his physical and mental health.
La Rue has discovered an ability to help heal his mental wounds and improve his quality of life through his creativity, coupled with a desire to share the healing power of self-expression. His desire is that others coping with difficulty feel less alone through his images. Terry La Rue’s photo etching prints whisper softly of pain, desperation, anxiety and shout courageously at a harsh reality while also maintaining hope.
